Gong Xi Fa Chai

Long weekend. Photos will be downloaded later

A working day. Came back around 5.30. Maid already gone to Pahang. Anticipating long weekend with no new books to read ( well actually I still have one from Borders) and shops will be closed for Chinese New Year, planned to go yo Pay less book store. Also wanted to eat Nando's for dinner. DH suggested Mines, ada Nandos's no pay less. Summit, no Nando's ada Payless. In the end went to S P, where ada nando's and Carrefour ada Payless. Bought Death at Epson Down by Robin Paige for 7 ringgit. New lagi. I bought another title Death at Whitechapel for RM27 at Borders the other day.

Planned with Mak M and dad to go to Uncle R's land in Bukit Cherakah. Mak M suggested that we have a picnic there. She'd cooked nasi lemak, while I bring Desert and sambal sotong. Planned to go at 10. Called Mak M in t he morning, and she said to come to her house at 9.30. Panicked!! Woke the children up, went downstairs to cook jelly and sambal sotong. Kecohs, while in the car called Mak M. Decided to meet somewhere at Bukit Jelutong tol as it was nearer to us, rather than go to Damansara and patah balik to Bukit Jelutong. Called Dad to meet us there.

REached there around 11. Laid down the food and apa lagi...HUngry. Even Qisty finished her nasi lemak with anchovies. The view was nice. Even though the sun was high- yelah tengah hari but it was windy, and there were lots of fruit trees therefore shady. Best betul. Oxygen so pure. Kalau ada hammock mmg tidur. Uncle R's land was 5000 ft above the sea level. After brunch we climbed up to the top. The view was breathtaking, we could see port Klang, Shah ALam. Even 3+ year old Qisty climbed up ---- with high heels mind you. I had visualise a country picnic, and my kids were wearing dresses-What was I thinking- Ingat England ke apa? Hahaha.
But the land was cleared. Tak ada lalang or weeds pun.

Next we went to see my land. Pusing2 as there was no direct access road. It is still semak of course. But we got to the land next to it where Irman lost his bracelet. Qisty went as well, it was really hot at that time and the land next to mine was cleared, orang curi tanah. Dad and Mak M wants us to have the land surveyed and plant fruit trees. After what uncle R did to his land, semangat berkobar2 lah. My dream is to have organic fruit trees plant there and vegetables if possible, though that would take hard work. I wish I could just stay there and farm. Make my own soap and skincare with organic herbs and flowers grown there.

Went back home, rest- packed our bags and off to Kluang.

Reached Kluang around 11pm. House quiet. Apparently Sis In Laws, Parent IL went to JB to see BILs. We went to the pasar Malam. Wow, Kluangites are so rajin, hardworking. The Pasar Malam closed at 12. Bought Banana Chips and Mermaidia ( RM 10) towel for Qisty.

MIL's birthday!! Happy Birthday mak. MIL cooked laksa Johor, DH cooked Barbecue, The kids made birthday cake and jellies for MIL.

Went back to Sepang around 12. Reached Sepang around 4, as DH took the Linggi exit, Passed kampung Linggi. Stopped at Mamak's. The kids had roti canai.

MC. Qisty had fever. Managed to finish both White chapel and Epsom Down. Best. My current favourite authors. What I love about these series was how it combined historical figures and fiction. Whitechapel mystery was about the Ripper, Winston churchill and Prince Eddy and one of the conspiracies. Epsom Downs is on horse racing, favourite British past time during 1880's and the famous Lillie langtry.

Older men and young chicks

This morning switched on IKIM dot FM. The topic for the day is Female University Students now go for men between forty and fifty. Reason, financial stability and of course maturity. Well that is the trend nowadays.

One man called from Shah Alam- UITM suddenly came to mind, said that it's true . The male students in universities are immature and they should realise this and change and to Take it as challenge. Another man from Kelantan called and said women should look for pious men rather than financial stability. Another man from UPM called, said he agreed with the man from Kelantan, and this disturbing trend has increased divorce rate. Another man called said that there are more female students than male, that is why. Finally, a woman called and said, female students should seek someone of their age and strive to be independent instead of choosing an easy life.

I can see why they want older, rich, suave men. Tak payah susah susah. Live the life of tai tai. Who doesn't want that. But in pursuit of that, do you honestly want to be saddled with an old wrinkled husband, say in ten to twenty years from now. OKlah kalau kaya of course you could hire a nurse to take care of him while you go shopping. Mmm come to think of it ok jugak. Rather than spending your life together struggling then suddenly when he's successful, you're replaced with a nubile young chick . But you know, if he can do it once, he can do it again. Like once, a man brought his girlfriend to see my dad, wanted to make her his second wife and wanted my dad's opinion.

My dad looked at the girl and said.. Are you sure you want to go through this. Taking second wife is probably harder than taking a third and forth later. He has got a point.

I know someone who, in her twenties, married a forty something foreigner. Ye lah an older, suave mat salleh. Married him, than ten years later, still young, ditched her husband to run off with a lawyer.

I also know two men, who after taking two wives, felt the pressure of coping with two families, two set of in laws and in the end spend hari raya alone.

I also know of a few who after taking a second wife, remarried the first.

Cosmo world cont..

First ride of the day ~ Ooort's express. Looks like a top. I had to put my bag in a locker, shila had to go somewhere, so by the time I went there Nadine sat with DH and I sat alone. At first it went round slowly, then gained speed. DH held on to his glasses. Suddenly I got the giggling fit. You should see him holding fast to his glasses. Hahaha. And he actually bought the photo.

Next ride the DNA Mixer. Looked very harmless- rows of chair - nothing out of ordinary. HAH! not ordinary. The cement mixer- imagine that motion- that was how it went. The fact that the operator of the machine insisted that we should take our glasses and slippers off should warn us.. but we went ahead any way. We were moved round and round upside down, then reverse- very like the cement mixer. Shouted till hoarse, prayed that the buckles or whatever's holding us will not go off. Before that ride, we felt that the thing that held us down was too tight, and joked that big people may not be able to go on it. We were glad that it was tight. I went out of the ride like someone in a drunken stupor.

Next we wanted to go on the Spinning orbit, but then there were no takers. Shila said she'd switch place with Epi. DH had to go to the restroom. Nadine and I waited. After a while, nobody showed up, so we went on the Dizzy Lizzy. ( Photo 1) I Thot, well, I had the horrendous ride before~ what could be worse. Ii was milder but, if I had it before DNA mixer I probably enjoyed it.

As Nadine didn't want to go on the Space Attack, it looking suspiciously like the Mixer- the part where at a point you'd be upside down, we headed to the Kid's section and saw Shila, Epi and the kids on the Botanic Drive. The kids then went on the Molly Coof's swing. Shila and Epi then had to go check out, so I took the kids to the honey bump, children's bumper car, and later on Buddy Go round- Carousel like ride. The kids had of course to ride on the spinning bowl. Moi joined in as well. And suddenly felt dizzy, nauseous and had a splitting headache. Closed my eyes as couldn't stand it and when I opened my eyes felt like everything was in slow motion. Panicked as I thot I'd black out - asked nadine if we were stopping . HEHEHE, rupanya merry go round slowing down.

Nasib baik next the kids pi play ground while I nursed myself. DH went back and forth to the Adult rides to play what he missed. He enjoyed it.

Now. What do you thing brought about nauseousness, dizzines, headache..etc. Am I too old for these rides. I used to love rollercoasters. Went to Alton Towers about 3-4 times, summer , winter, autumn,. The great American Adventure, in London twice.. always go for the toughest ride there was. Then while in Nottingham with Shila went to another , can't remember it now. Must be the nasi lemak!! HAhaha..

Anyway, after DH and Epi and the kids had their turns on bumper cars ,we had lunch at the pool. Thank you shila for spending the weekend with us!!

Went to buy french bread and steak sauce at Cold Storage .Then headed back to Ampang for the Bro Amy's Barbecue Birthday Bash.

Sampai semua marah as I was late. But then, the men went off. Oi!! They were supposed to light the barbecue thingy. DH went off to find fire starter and ingredients for the steak sauce- sis Ida insisted that I make the staeak sauce, didn't want the store bought sauce. Bro amy had to pick sil at the golf tournament. Bro Iji had to pick some documents. So sis's BIL Ad*m and I had to light the fire- with disasterous result. Later on BIL H came back and finally got the fire going.

Barbecue went ok Food delish. Came back to Sepang exhausted.

Matchstick for the eyes

I am so very sleepy. Is it because I slept late last night or because solah tired due to activities during the weekend or because of the reflexology thingy in my shoes.

Might be because I slept late, usually by 9.30 I'm sound asleep but I've slept late before but never felt this sleepy. May be because of the unusually active weekend. ( mm active? well unusual may be)

Made toasted sardine sandwiches for breakfast. Light breakfast as planned to go to Putrajaya for an uncle's wedding (pangkat aje). His grandmother used to live behind my great grandma's house in Linggi. He lost his mom 10 years ago, later his great grandma. We rarely see his family ( 2 sisters and a father) since. As his father is from Selangor- now that there he has no sedara in Linggi, we rarely see him, plus my great grandma now stays with my mum, we rarely go back.

The operative word is planned. As Dh cleaned the aquarium and then this and that, left the house around 1 , 1 hour later than planned and went to Alamanda for wedding pressie, (DH and others stayed in the car while I went searching.). We wanted to go early as we were supposed to join BIL Epi at Berjaya Times Square for a swim and later to Cosmo world. Then found out we were early, As BIL planned to check in at three. We headed to Toys r us instead. Parking space was difficult to YCP? Usually we're able to park right in front of the store. Apparently there was a convocation at the hotel.

Pi Toyrus ni mmglah best. Bukan aje kids go crazy, mummies, well at least moi, was fascinated by the things they sell there. Especially crafts. Kit for making jewellery, friendship bands, knits, blow pens ( come to think of it same effect as sprayng with a toothbrush), scrap book kits. In the end bought a scrap book kit for kakak, blow pens for adik, Princess Genevieve of the 12 dancing princess for Qisty and an adapter for the V smile console. I bought reflexology thingy from the stall outside toys r us. Qisty when asked what she wanted ~pointed at the playhouse she was playing in. 1k+++ sorrylah sayang.. well past mama's budget. Dh bought pressie for jojo.

Went back to mum's ~had goreng pisang.. Should not have taken this and an hour later went to BTS. Macit!!! traffic Jam everywhere. Parking susah lagi. Met Shila at the pool. While bebudak took a dip, Shila, Nadine and I went down. I of course went to Borders for my usual victorian mystery novels. Bought 2 mysteries, a book on how to draw flowers and a book on crafts. I really love Borders, Especially the crafts kits .. for children mind you.. tapi expensive. Could stay there for ages.

Went back to Shila's room. Had dinner. Began to have migraine. Went back to Ampang. Promised her that we'd join them tomorrow at Cosmo world.

I have been getting migraine like 3 days in a week now and almost every week. Friday had a severe one- shelved my plan for exercise. Must have been the ice lemon tea from MC D plus panas masa lunch.

Cooked sambal for nasi lemak. Dad and Mum wanted the kids to go with them to Book Show. Told mum we wouldn't be able to join her. Dad went to Maybank's golf tournament. We went to Cosmo world.

Sampai aje, bought tickets. The tickets are now priced according to height. Qisty pun kena charged. BIL took care of the kids while Nadine, shila , DH and I headed for adult rides. To be continued...

Flower Power

27 January

Photo 1 girls at Cheetahlicious party.

I actually wrote a blog on this last week but don't know why, first cannot post photos, then the whole blog tak ada. Grr anyway ..., after a while ..dah habis steam dah.

Went to the floral Parade on the 3rd February. DH didn't want to go, he had to go send his car to the mechanics, buat apa tengok floral parade ni, tapi minah bunga nak pi jugak. I said then I'd take the maid and go by ERL and then the bus, sebab some parts of the road will be closed and I don't have to search for parking space. But then he said he'd go with us after all, I were to pick him up at the mechanics and we'd go with my car. Ting tong ting tong.. dah 11 o'clock, parade pun dah habis.. so pi tengok static flower parade ajelah. Went to the mechanics, the car would be ready by half an hour, so the kids and I were to take the ERL and he'll meet us there. Marah jugaklah, could have told us before we set out of the house since the station is near the house. Got at the station, missed the train.. Grr.. And the shortest way from parking to the station had to be paved with apakebende stoneslahkan and no ramp for the push chair. Waited for the train.
Sampai Putrajaya. Dh still not there. Waited again. Adik put chewing gum on kakak's hair, lagilah buat mama dia geram. Qisty slept, oklah kalau tak nak melayan dia lagi. Luckily brought the Australian Women's day magazine that I got a stackful from Mak U. Anyway, kakak got thirsty. Let me tell you, punya canggih the station, there is no shop whatsoever. Ada one vending machine which is n'est pas ` not working. Tired of waiting, took a cab to Alamanda, at least can window shop. DH called while in the taxi. Apparently ada miscommunication. He thot we'd be at the parade thingy...

Tickets for the flower fest was RM2 for adults and 1 for kids. Bayar 5 ringgit, only kakak was charged. DH grumbled. To me it's ok. Lupa bawak proper camera, so used my handphone instead. Penang's float was the best, butterflies, praying mantis, huge flowers. Next I like the Sabah float with Iguana.

Lost DH again. He went to the next tent, which I missed. The tent was filled with vendors selling orchids..cantik..I love the catellyas. There were stalls selling plants- herbs like misai kucing, tongkat Ali, vegetables and more flowers. There were three stalls selling handmade soap. Mmm competition. Interviewed them. Two used cold process, and one definitely I would not buy anymore as they used paraben. One used hot process and claimed to be orghanic. I asked them whether they used organic ingredients. Yelah organic essential oil may be susah sikit but at least the main ingredient- the oil has to be organic. Tak pun.. then why use the word organic if none of the ingredients are organic. But at least they used essential oil as preservative- not paraben.
3rd Feb
Saturday, terpleot in the house. Made laksa Johor. Thot of going swimming with Epi and family and then to Bagan Lalang, but BIL was busy cutting people.
4th Feb
Kakak made muffin. Planned to go swimming at round 4 at the new Cyberjaya Community Pool. Fried pisang and a bit of fish coated with breadcrumbs and french fries. Can proudly acknowledge that the banana came from our tree. Yeah.. the only thing that is bearing fruit nowadays. Must cut down the ciku tree, which is not bearing anything. At least we tasted the carambola aka starfruit and the soursop.
The pool small, but any tom dick and harry could go in without proper attire. When we reached there, there weren't many people around. Kids enjoyed it. I would have swum if I could. DH and BIL Epi, played tennis.
After maghrib, we went, along with my sister and family to Bagan Lalang for seafood fest. Best betul but the kids were tired. I personally prefer going on Saturday than sunday as the kids have to go to school the next day. Food was delicious, hard to keep away cockles and squids which I love but since using Zai's formula, and since being told that cockles are like filter for the ocean and that squid cause the red pimple like spots on the face, I stayed away from them. True enough after abstaining from them.. no red spots.
Exercise-wise, ever since getting infection I haven't been exercising. Must restart again today!!
